8040 Continuous Form Laser Printer
Because it can operate in two-up mode, the 8040 offers a highly efficient solution for printing documents, invoices, customer statements and the like. Two-up mode effectively raises its print speed from 40 ppm to 80 ppm for letter-size sheets.
With a printable width of 17 inches, the 8040 can do double the work of a narrower printer. Two letter-size documents can be generated side by side for maximum efficiency.
The 8040's straight paper path transports paper without rollers and turns, greatly reducing paper jams. With the SOLID straight paper path, labels don't get peeled off on internal rollers.
Sturdy engineering and sophisticated hardware give the 8040 the power to print more than one shift per day. The 8040 has both the durability and speed necessary to perform in an industrial environment.

With a total of 25 emulations, the controller gives the printer an exceptionally high level of compatibility.
The following emulations are standard:
HP LaserJet (PCL5e) Epson FX Diablo 630 IBM Proprinter
Optional emulations are as follows:
IBM (AFP) IPDS Printronix IGP Printronix Code V Printronix PGL QMS Magnum
Kyocera Prescribe Oasys Express DEC LN03+ Tektronix 4010/4014 HPGL (7475A) Tally
MT6xx TIFF (CCITT group 4 and group 3) Bull 6090 Xerox XES Fargo Datamax Prodegy
AGFA Reno HP RTL CALS HP DesignJet 630
The benefit of a high number of emulations is increased with technology enabling the printer to use several of them simultaneously. S.E.M. does just this.
With S.E.M., the printer can identify and interpret numerous print languages without intervention from the user. Even within a single page several languages can be used.
S.E.M. gives the user total flexibility in programming - one can use HP PCL5e, Kyocera Prescribe, and/or MICROPLEX IDOL to describe his page. One can also write digital overlay forms in Prescribe, construct a bar code using IDOL, and send variable data from standard software using HP PCL5e.
Network Compatibility: The parameters can be sent from any computing platform through any operating system.
Easy Adjustments: Adjustments in size, type or checksum calculation are simple to input, and do not require a new bar code font.
High Print Quality: Scanning errors often cost companies valuable time and money. Laser quality, and choices of 300, 400 and 600 dpi print resolution give SOLID bar codes fool-proof readability.
Faster Printing: The printers bar code system saves time. Because the host does not have to transfer a complex bitmap, data traffic in the network stays low, resulting in a faster printing process. Our printers generate bar codes while printing at full speed, and are exceptionally adept at printing on-the-fly bar codes.
The 8040 supports the following bar code types:
Regular Bar Codes (Bar code I)
UPC A UPC B EAN 8 (EAN 8 add on) EAN 13 (EAN 13 add on) EAN 128 Postnet 2/5
interleaved 2/5 3-stroke Datalogic 2/5 3-stroke Matrix Code 128 Codabar Code 39
Kix
2D-Bar Codes (Bar code II):
PDF 417 USD 5 Datamatrix Maxicode (UPS)
Standard interfaces:
Serial interface RS 232 or RS 422
MP-BUS interface
Optional interfaces are as follows:
